This site is researched and written by The Gold IRA Desk Editorial Team, an independent research desk covering the self-directed precious-metals retirement category. The approach is simple and deliberately unglamorous: read the primary sources. Custodian fee schedules, IRS publications, BBB and ConsumerAffairs records, state regulator filings, and the actual purchase agreements companies ask you to sign.

The Gold IRA industry is full of contradictions worth documenting: companies with A+ BBB ratings quietly charging 30% premiums on proof coins, "home storage" schemes the Tax Court has already rejected, and custodians charging $200/year for the same paperwork another handles for $80. Most "reviews" online are paid promotions dressed up as journalism. This site sets out to be the opposite.

Every claim here has a citation. Every company is scored on the same published rubric. Fee schedules are read line by line, not paraphrased from a press release.
